What kind of garden are you growing?

Imagine holding a handful of seeds, each one carrying something you will share with the world — an idea, an act of kindness, a memory...

Thinking back, there are many memories of things and people that resonated with me and inspired me. The memory of Johnny Appleseed is close to my heart because it validated my frame of mind, my inner compass.

I first read about him on a story handout in middle school. It is time to pay it forward.

Johnny Appleseed was a gentle soul with a big dream — planting apple trees to offer sustenance to all. He wandered barefoot across the land, planting orchards in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and beyond.

Across nearly fifty years, he sowed thousands of apple trees, creating a lasting impact on the land and the people he encountered.

No grand speeches, no headlines, no strings attached.

He shared with the world. Seeds of care, patience, and a belief in the future. His small acts of kindness rippled outward in beautiful ways and contributed to the circle of giving. He, too, carried a quiet light.

He was here.
